A member asked:

I had a vaginal scan indicating that my uterus is axial, the endometrium was 7.7mm now i have to have a hysteroscopy/biopsy is this necessary?

Assuming:: 1. You are postmenopausal 2. You are having vaginal bleeding then yes this is advised. The purpose is to make sure there is no evidence of endometrial cancer (the majority of women will not have this). Endometrial thickness above 5 mm is commonly considered something that needs to be addressed if #1 and #2 apply.
