See a dentist: Best is to find out why you have a toothache..The dentist can find the cause and treat it accordingly. In the meantime, motrin/tylenol/aleve may provide some relief. Look in your mouth, if you have whitish ulcer on the gum (aphthous ulcer), this can cause aching tooh as well--but this will heal in a week or so with/out treatment. Consult your dentist/doc. Good luck.

Best to see Dentist: Please see a dentist. Temporarily aleve, advil, Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen). For more holistic patients, arnica can be helpful to reduce tooth pain temporarily.

Varies: Depends on the cause of the tooth pain. It is better to be evaluated by a dentist and treat the cause, rather than be on pain meds.

Dental Care: Once the cause of your toothache is determined, then appropriate treatment can be administered. There are no "pills" that will treat a rotten tooth.. pain meds and antibiotics temporarily alleviate the symptoms.

See your dentist: any other treatment is a temporary relief. A tooth pain won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus and to other areas of your head and neck. See your dentist ASAP.

Symptoms not source: Antibiotics will not help if the pain is within a tooth the pulp/nerve.) You really need to see a dentist to treat the source
