Testing for Viruses: After an exposure to a common virus the antibody maturation process should be complete for about 90 to 95% of humans at three months but be nearly 100% by six months. If you have a high risk exposure there are better and more rapid ways to find out if you are positive than just waiting for an antibody response. In hiv's case you can know if you are positive by 21 days after exposure with right tes.
