See below: If positive it would need to be confirmed. If negative, it does not rule out HIV as it can take as long as one year for the test to become positive after exposure.

Hi Dr, how accurate is the antibody part of a 4th generation test at detecting hiv-2 at 38 days post exposure since p24 is not detectable on hiv-2. Doc has said I am conclusive about my negative status. Exposure was in Thailand.
Negligible hiv risk. Tested 26 days and 56 days post exposure with 4th gen duo test both non responsive. Are my results conclusive? My doc says yes.
