Hi dr, how accurate is the antibody part of a 4th generation test at detecting hiv-2 at 38 days post exposure since p24 is not detectable on hiv-2. doc has said i am conclusive about my negative status. exposure was in thailand.

I agree: with your Doctor. You are negative. The 4th generation tests detect antibodies for both HIV1 and HIV2. They are accurate for the time window you describe. I would not have further concern, and I recommend you have no further testing related to this exposure and, of course, continue safe sexual practices ALWAYS, EVERY TIME. Stay well:)
