Why might it be that some therapists want you to stay on antidepressants?

To avoid suicide: If antidepressants helps a client to avoid getting into the deep despair and hopelessness of depression, then that is a good reason to encourage a client to stay on them. It is always the client's decision and to be talked about with the psychologist or therapist.
