Can help with OCD: Anit-depressants can help if your perfectionism hinges on obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd)- but procrastination is inconsistent with that condition. So it may be an extreme suggestion. Please discuss with your regular physician before starting on a potent regimen.

See below: I would also address this with the therapist-- seems like you reacted strongly to the suggestion and having unsaid things might impede the therapy. Ask her about why she recommended the antidepressant and definitely talk about your reactions. Good luck!

PERFECTIONISM: For your symptoms, 1st have a physical exam to rule out a physical problem. Please consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy to help you with ZOOM.com sessions. Research indicates with psychotherapy you can change & find better coping mechanisms. If there is a biological reason for your problem please see a Psychiatrist for medication.

Probably correct: I suspect your behavioral symptoms are part of a larger and deeper issue and your therapist is recommending anti-depressant medication to deal with the underlying condition. But the bigger problem is why you did not discuss it with her but just rejected it out of hand. The anger and the resentment that simmers under the surface make therapy a challenge. Antidepressants may help with that as well
