Usually no: Most likely the answer is no. Oral herpes and genital herpes are two different viruses. If your sexual partner has open herpetic lesions, abstain from sex until they are healed up. That is the best way to prevent spread of genital herpes.

Not necessarily: Make sure you wash your hands often especially if you touch your mouth / lesion. Auto inoculation can lead to transference / cause genital herpes. Hope this helps.
