A member asked:

What is eye accommodative spasm? had lasik for myopia. can see small print, but distance vision goes blurry after computer. any fix for this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Stiff Focusing": Accomodative inertia/spasm. As we get older, the flexible lens in our eye that is responsible for focusing at various distances becomes "stiff". Many patients as they reach age 40 will notice that it takes more effort to see at near. Some who can muster enough focusing power for near work will have trouble relaxing their focusing muscles to see at distance. Frequent breaks/ weak reading glasses.
