All nighters: So typically my recommendation is actually to stay awake during the daylight hours even if have not slept the night before. This is assuming that you will be permitted to sleep that night and not have repeat "no sleep" on night 2. If not sure, generally want to limit any daytime sleep to < 1-2 hours and do before 2pm if needed and then go to sleep that night "when tired.".
