Nsaids: Such as Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) usually work best for dental pain. See your dentist soon if the pain is persistent.

Pain due to inflammation caused by your infection. Take OTC pain meds as directed on the package. Overdosing w OTC's can be extremely dangerous. Cold compresses may help. Dentist may be able to prescribe antibiotics t lessen spread of infection and reduce pain. Get to Dentist ASAP. Delay is counterproductive.
