Minimum every 6 mo.: If you have healthy teeth and gums, then see a dentist at least every 6 mo. The 6 mo. Rule is not just a cliche. In even the healthiest individual, saliva and plaque create deposits (calculus) on teeth that cannot be removed with brushing. If the deposits are not removed, then inflamed gums and bone loss can result. In the long run, 6 mo. Visits will save you a lot of money in avoided dental work.

Every 6 months: If all is well, every six months. If you have chronic problems or difficulty keeping your teeh clean -- more often. We have many patients in for teeth cleaning every 3 -4 months, because they are unable to stay ahead of the calculus (tartar) buildup.
