Probably not yet: It may be that your 12 year old daugther is ready to start her menses, but it is also important to know her level of sexual development. Most girls are at least tanner stage 3 before menses begin. You can look up pictures of tanner stages and see where our daughter fits. Generally, the first menstrual period will last several days with light to regular flow.
