Not an unusual: complaint of patients receiving Depo Provera (it's called "breakthrough bleeding" It is still acting as a contraceptive!!!!! If the spotting is worrisome or even "inconvenient" an adjustment i the dosage of Provera (or withdrawal allowing a full period while using another means of contraception ) could be discussed with your GYN.
