Menses: Menstruation the first year can be extremely erratic -- from several times a month to skipping months on end. I would consider this normal.

Common: In the first yr or so,cycles can be irregular with up to 90 day spacing.This is often due to lack of ovulation, which is more predictable later, as the kid matures more. Cycles after long intervals may be quite heavy. If longer than 90 days, an office visit may be needed. Meds can bring on a cycle if needed.
