Keep a dialogue: It is important you keep trying to seek treatment. Many family physicians (me being one) can prescribe anti-depressants, but if you remain depressed and the medications we family physicians rx are not helping, your dr. Will either need to try another or refer you to a psychiatrist who is a doctor that has specific training in depressive disorders beyond the scope of a family dr. Best wishes.

Time for Psychiatry: It's hard to know about the specifics of these medication trials, but it sounds like it's time to consult with a psychiatrist. Also, adding psychotherapy frequently improves outcome. As a psychiatrist, i wouldn't be prescribing Adderall or vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) off label in this case . . . And i doubt most family physicians would be willing to do it either. There are likely several options yet to be tried.
