Since june 18, i have been taking alprazolam .25 mcg. my last menstruation was on may 16. i got two x-rays done and found out today that i am pregnant. will it have any effect on the baby?

Pregnancy: I have no crystal ball. But the good thing is that you are aware you are pregnant & clearly are responsible (hence these questions). Please talk with your doctor about coming off Alprazolam as soon as possible. I wish you a healthy pregnancy & a beautiful baby at the end of it.

Xanax (alprazolam): No need for over concern since the xanax (alprazolam) dose is low & u intervened early. Work with your doctor on coming off of the medications & monitoring your pregnancy. Wish u well.

Alprazolam: Alprazolam is a cat. D drug in that its risks outweigh the benefits. So, if you're still taking it, you should talk to your doc about stopping it and switching to a different medication or treating your problem somehow else.
