Probably not.: A truly mild sprain does not usually need crutches. If you cannot bear weight and walk, then yes, you need crutches but that is no longer a mild sprain.

If it is mild: A mild sprains usually does not need crutches to heal quicker. Though the more rest it gets the better it will feel. Rice is best which is rest, ice, compression and elevation.
