Physical Therapy: The quickest way to recover is to be involved in a good ankle rehabilitation program. This should include streching, strengthening and proprioception exercises. If after completing the rehab you are still having problems then you may need an MRI to evaluate your cartilage and soft tissue around your ankle.

Have it evaluated.: Ankle pain following and injury may last a long time. The pain may be due to a fracture, sprains, arthritis, or a soft tissue injury involving the tendon, ligaments or nerves . Have the foot evaluated so that you may get the appropriate care.
