Possibly: Many people with post traumatic stress disorder or other anxiety disorders are now using support animals. I don't know any one who has used a chinchilla for that purpose -but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. Dogs are often used as support animals. I have seen rabbits used for this purpose as well.
