Yes: In the early phase of diabetes there can be episodes of low blood sugar that cause anxiety . Too aggressive treatment can cause low blood sugar and anxiety. Diabetes can itself cause psychological anxiety because of the risks of complications, life-style and dietary changes and even just from the need to check glucose levels. Diabetes can also cause an organic depression with anxiety and agitation.
