Avoid risk factors: Occlusion of the radial artery is an uncommon clinical condition. Most commonly, it is the result of medical procedures like an arteriogram. Other causes include embolization and thrombosis. Isolated occlusion of the radial artery may not be symptomatic if you have sufficient collateral circulation from the ulnar artery. Occasionally a blocked radial artery can be opened or bypassed.
