Significant: Resect - remove the damaged obstructed segment and hook the bowel back together. Hopefully no problems, but ask risks, benefits and complications of the surgeon and team.

Colon resection: Can be done with open surgery or laparoscopic surgery. Pain is less and recovery is faster with laparoscopic surgery. Risks are bleeding, infection, intestinal leak, colostomy, etc. Please review with your own surgeon before considering surgery.
