Connective tissue: Receding gum is very common now days, the causes are many, perio desease (gum ). Bruxing , or clinching , abrasive tooth brush. Your case might be due to grinding since you mentioned it. Treatment now days is not to harvest tissue from the palate(roof of the mouth).Some doctors still do, the use of donated tissues called alloderm, or perioderm is common and give very good results , see your dentists.
