I have considerable gum recession on my lower canines. should i manually brush these teeth while using a sonicare for the rest of my mouth.

What you should do: What you should do is see a gum/bone Specislist, a Periodontist, to determine the cause of the recession (and underlying bone loss), whether recession can be halted or corrected, whether these areas are indicative of other gum problems, and what is individualized oral hygiene techniques that are best for you. Your problem's resolution is not as simple as choice of toothbrush.
