neg.hiv, after 23 months post exposure..recently wanted to check my immune status, to find out i got low lymphocytes t4, t8..doc ordered hiv pcr ! why ?

In case: In extremely rare cases the screening test for HIV could be falsely negative. A pcr is a more direct measure if there are any viral particles in your blood. Your doctor probably is just trying to cover all the bases to find out why your white count is low.
