Smile...: Depression has many causes. While genetics and environment play a role, one's outlook on life is dependent on thier support systems, coping mechanisms and self image. I would recommend keeping company with positive people, exercise regularly, and take time for yourself every day. Look at the cup as always half full and smile. If you have thoughts of hurting yourself or others seek help.

Depression remedies: Include exercising, engaging in social interaction & engrossing activities, practicing gratitude, doing kind things for others, learning and practicing stress management, developing and committing to meaningful goals, avoiding negative thinking & negative comparisons with others, and talking to empathic & trusted people. If those aren't enough, talk to a mental health professional.

Activities: You need to talk to your doctor in order to get a handle on how severe your depression is. But things that can help are daily exercise, especially outdoors which increases sun exposure. Also find some volunteer work to do. When you help others, it will make you feel better. Do yoga, take dance classes, learn a musical instrument.
