Live healthy ;: Strive happiness. Talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity is optimal in a green space. Eat healthfully. Cut out junk carbs, caffeine ; alcohol (or moderate). Try activities such as qi gong, tai chi, acupuncture, acupressure, meditation, yoga, deep breathing exercises or progressive muscle relaxation. Socialize.

Avoiding Dep: This is a great question. As many as 17 adults (maybe more) in 100 will experience depression sometime in their lives. So bravo for asking. Become familiar with common cognitive distortions, especially the tendency to catastrophize and to minimize positives / maximize negatives. Examine dysfunctional thoughts critically.
