Thyroid nodule : Thyroid nodules are very common especially among women my impression is your doctor suspected something in your thyroid and ordered the ultrasound because it is generally not possible to feel that small a nodule this size nodules are generally not amenable to biopsy if there is no family history of cancer thyroid and u have not had radiation to the neck it can be followed with another ultrasound.
