Things to do: 1. Avoid peak daylight hours 2. Use sunscreen & re-apply often! 3. Wear a cover-up over swim suit 4. Stay under the umbrella.

Arm Lift Scars: If your arm lift scars are pink or red in color then they should be totally covered up and protected from sun exposure until the scar color fades completely. Sun exposure prior to complete scar fading will result in permanent hyperpigmentation or dark scars. Sunscreen will not provide adequate protection. Even most types of clothing do not provide complete sun protection.

Sun is damaging: The key is to avoid sun exposure as much as possible. The sunlight slows down the scar maturation process, making them more red and may even darken them more. Clothing, sunscreen and avoidance of peak-sun hours are important.
