Implant concerns: There are lots of structures that dentists need to be concerned with when placing implants- nerves, blood vessels, sinus, other teeth, etc. I'm guessing that you are referring to the mandibular nerve in the lower jaw which if damaged can make your entire lower jaw numb on one side temporarily or permanently.

Lower jaw: When placing implants on the upper jaw the biggest concern is the sinus. On the lower jaw the concern is the ia nerve. If you have the correct xrays and scans done prior to treatment then placement is much more accurate and safe.
