How much dental pain is there if the dentist severes the mandibular jaw nerve during an implant?

Severed Nerve.: If the nerve is completely severed then you have a numb lip . Your teeth on that side will be also numb on that side. If it is only partially cut will there will be a chance to have some pain/burning on your lip.

Nerve damage: It depends on the level of injury to the nerve fiber. It can range from no feeling at all to constant pain without any stimulation. Either way, it should be evaluated immediately by a specialist. Most likely the implant has to be removed.

Variable: If completely severed - numb. If some tingling, partial injury. Numbness can become painful or disagreeable - Dysesthesia. See oral surgeon for assessment of nerve injury.
