Possibly: It is important to keep the kidney flushed, so uric acid does not accumulate in it. If uric acid blood levels are high, that may be worth treating. However, some medications (e.g., hydrochlorthiazide) raise uric acid levels, but in a way that may protect the kidneys. This requires review with physician.
