Several possibilitie: Allopurinol is given when high serum uric acid causes urinary stones. It has few side effects, but rarely causes a severe skin condition called stevens–johnson syndrome. Potassium citrate is given high urinary acidity is the main cause of stones. This drug prevents uric acid stones both by urinary alkalinization and by increasing citrate, (stone inhibitor). Uric acid stones: Allopurinol and febuxostat are used; side effects include rash, allergy, liver irritation. Work on diet: avoid organ meats; fatty meats and alcohol will elevate uric acid. Avoid these. Also, drink at least 3 liters fluid per day - this dilutes uric acid excretion - and incline diet successfully to mostly whole grain, fruit, and veggies, and nuts, using egg white and fish for protein
