Gastritis: Symptoms are not enough to distinguish between the different possibilities. Infection, peptic ulcer, inflammation, all can feel the same. If the symptoms don't resolve soon, you may need a look inside with endoscopy. If there's a doubt during that procedure, a biopsy can be done for a more definitive diagnosis . Symptoms which last too long have to be investigated.
