Infection: A lot of times children get "lumps , bumps, knots;swelling " after their shots. These are not unusual. But, being very swollen, red and hot , needs immediate attention.Your child may possibly have an infection - cellulitis and need to be treated with antibiotics.Fever is common after shots. Take your child to her pediatrician as soon as possible. In the meantime, give her tylenol/motrin to ease pain.
