Hernia or no?: I would seek a second opinion. If you have a bulge clinically and the ct saw a hernia, then you could either have a hernia or what is known as "diastasis recti", which is a thinning of the abdominal wall without actual tear like in hernia. Many surgeons will not operate for diastasis, but some like myself, and most plastic surgeons, do.

See surgeon: You have pain in abdomen. You have a ct scan. You have seen a surgeon who did not find a hernia. You are 29 and female. See another surgeon. Make sure you write down when you are having pain and where. He/she will evaluate you and may order new tests. A thorough physical exam is very important along with your history. The ctscan helps guide the doctors' impression.
