Need FaceToFace Exam: If i understand your question, you had 10/10 pain during the ultrasound. Other than pressure from the transducer on your skin, it shouldn't cause pain. Typically, spigelian hernias are seen on ct scan and are located below the belly button (on either the l or r). I'm happy you're seeing a surgeon so that you can have a thorough evaluation to get to the bottom of this.

Trapped: These are not usually large hernias. Small neck and something trapped- usually some fat, rarely omentum or bowel. May need surgical fix!
