Not so much: Methylphenidate helps more with adhd, but can sometimes exacerbate anxiety. If you're both anxious and dealing with adhd, you and your doctor need to work together to balance out these effects.

Usually no: For most people methylphenidate increases anxiety. For some people with adhd who have difficulties because of their condition methylphenidate helps control the adhd symptoms and so they feel less anxious but anxiety reduction is not the primary effect.
