Can you tell me if i am likely to need braces for my overbite?

Depends: The cause of your overbite needs to be determined. If you have a full complement of teeth, orthodontics is usually needed. If your overbite is caused by missing teeth and a collapsed posterior bite, then restorations may be the answer. Sometimes both are needed.

Probably: Most efficient way to resolve a malocclusion (bad bite) is realigning the teeth and jaws. Ask your dentist to refer you to an orthodontic specialist for an initial examination (often complimentary) and guidance. Then you can make decisions based on knowledge rather than supposition.
