Can you tell me if i have an overbite do i need braces?

Perhaps: A 27% vertical overbite combined with a 2mm horizontal overbite (overjet) is considered normal. For a diagnostic evaluation of your occlusion, and an opinion as to whether orthodontic treatment is indicated, please schedule an initial examination (often free or low cost) with a qualified orthodontic specialist.

Selective treatment: If your overbite is not skeletal, braces and an elastics that attaches to the braces should be sufficient to correct your mild to moderate overbite. If the overbite is significant (over 5mm) and your lower jaw is underdeveloped, corrective surgery may be your only and best way to correct it.
