Bunion surgery.: There are no braces or exercises to get rid of a bunion. If you have it surgically removed, there are several ways your surgeon could go about it. Depending on the angle of your bones (you'll need an x-ray), there are many different procedures to correct your foot. Some involve bone cuts and screws. You'll be swollen for several weeks, but the post-op pain does not last that long.

As Dr. Putnam: Pointed out, the only way to get rid of bunions is surgery. If you have pain from an associated condition, like an underlying arthritis in the joint, there are some treatments to help the pain, but they won't get rid of the bunion. Don't waste your time with splints and such. Also, if you have no pain, i would not recommend surgery. Not all bunions hurt and not all spaghetti is the same. Good luck.
