If you need volume,: Then fat grafting works well. It's your own tissue, so it's yours to keep once it heals. However, it requires a donor site, and can be unpredictable about how well it will "take" in the new area. The eyelid area is particularly challenging. Best to speak with a plastic surgeon about your options.

Longevity: of your result. Once a fat graft 'takes' it is a part of you and will not decrease with time. Many other fillers (juvederm, restylane, (dermal fillers) sculptra) go away over time and require repeated injections to maintain contour correction. It also costs a lot less to obtain 5 mls of fat than 5 mls of any other filler.

Only partially true: Fat injections have both advantages and disadvantages. The fat needs to be prepared properly or it will be resorbed quickly. The process must be done with excellent sterile technique to prevent infection. Results can be difficult to evaluate in the short term due to swelling and eventual loss of some fat. Fat is a natural product and very safe to use and has the potential to last a long time.
