No: If the lymph nodes are normal sized and have been stable in size over a long period of time (>1year), then continue yearly mammograms. It is important to perform your own breast self exam monthly. Be sure to check under the armpit, which is where the lymph nodes are, and squeeze the nipple to check for discharge.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.

No.: This is a common incidental finding. If the lymph nodes are normal in shape and size, no follow up is necessary.
