Fever: Rather than cold showers sit in a warm bath so you can get the full benefit of the bath in term of your comfort and reducing the temp.Push fluid. And you can alternate tylenol (acetaminophen) with Ibuprofen so that you are controlling the fever every three hours. Go to the e r when all else fails.

Fever >101.5: In an adult (i am not a pediatrician!) if you have a fever >101.5 we recommend calling you primary care physician. The fever is not so much the problem but figuring out why you are having it. Could be infection (simple viral or serious bacterial infection), adverse drug reaction, allergy, autoimmune disease or even some cancers. Cant say more from your ? But would recommend seeing a doc.
