Symptoms & diagnosis: An ear che is a symptom. An ear infection is a diagnosis of what is causing the symptom. Not all symptoms are caused by one of the possible diagnoses.

Types Ear infection: 3 types of ear infections: outer, middle &inner. Inner ear infection involves the balance system and people get very dizzy. Outer ear infection involves the outer ear and ear canal. It can be very painful. There is usually swelling and drainage of the ear. Middle ear involves the ear drum and middle ear space. There is pain, muffled hearing etc. For pain: advil, (ibuprofen) or tylenol+warm compress.
