Normal: You just had surgery, therefore it is extremely common two days later to have difficulty smelling. Your nose is going to be congested for at least a week, maybe as much as two weeks. You will not smell very well, this is normal. You can try nasal saline rinses to keep nose clear of secretions and blood. Sometimes a decongestant will help you breathe and smell. Talk to your doctor.

Rhinoplasty swelling: If your surgery was only 2 days ago, you are probably swollen internally and that is why you cannot smell. You also may have packing or splints in your nose that you cannot see. If the loss of sense of smell persists, discuss with your surgeon.

Smell after surgery: Loss of sense of smell after nasal surgery is common and usually related to swelling. This would be expected at 2 days post op. Be patient and the sense of smell should return.
