IBS: There are many illnesses that mimic ibs, so make sure this is what you have. But for cramping from ibs then antispasmotics do help. Medications such as Bentyl (dicyclomine) or levabid help the spasms associated with ibs. Regular bowel movements also help. Use metamucil.
