There is: A margin of error in ultrasound measurement and, while 15.5 cm is considered upper limit of normal (measured at the level of the mid clavicle), 16.5 cm is close to this measurement. I would not be too concerned given normal lft's. Lastly, the best test to see liver size and fat content is mri. You might consider this exam in followup.
