Water soluble: EtOH is water soluble and out of your system in 24 hours. If you are a heavy drinker it can take months for your liver enzymes to normalize. It is long enough to give you a realistic picture of your actual health.

Depends: After a week of abstention. there will not be a measurable alcohol level in your blood, but if you have liver damage from XS alcohol, it will not likely be fully repaired in just a week. Triglycerides may improve in a few days, but there are further improvements to TG as well as other lipid components over 6 weeks. Alcohol doesn't directly effect the CBC or kidneys.
